One Touch of Irish Rainwater .......

In aqua seas an enlightening glow
and a growing need
Rainwater dancing on the surface
looking from below
A search never ending
Bouncing from emotions
to instincts
A blowing at the surface
Such a trying time for the big blue
whales .........but as the rain fell above
and surf crashed around them
They made love as only
whales can do
The soft low moans in the saltan
depths .....
The water closing in until
silence alone was
like a new cradle
and in the end
there were three
big blues

This so beautifully written in honor of the large sea mammals w/whom we share this earth. Unique and thought provoking...I wonder if mating whales are aware of their surroundings as you have described here? What an incredibly individual hub. UP Awesome and Beautiful Interesting, too.

A beautiful dedication to these beautiful animals

I have seen them but never heard them but I found a beautiful video.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0gC4SH1Bqk&feature...

A pod of 107 of these beautiful creatures (pilot whales) beached on on Stewart Island, New Zealand and died in February this year. By the time they were found it was too late to help any of them to survive. It was thought that this was a warning of the earthquake that devastated Christchurch less 2 days later.

Such a crying shame

ahorseback, this is simply beautiful. I have a cousin in Maine; he and his wife go on a cruise on the coast each august to go whale watching. They say its wonderful. I want to go visit them and experience it, but haven't been able to yet. The nature shows I've seen are breathtaking, Discovery channel does an excellent job of filming them.

Take care, my friend. Voted way up!

Erin ,you really need to show up there , baggage in hand and plant yourself on the coast for a week or two ! don't forget your umbrella sunscreen and dark glasses . Make a big show of it! lol.Seriously my best experience was a windjammmer cruise for a week up and down the coast , seeing whales , harbor seals , A lobster bake , glass of whine .....ya! Its all good though , life just doesn't allow us to enjoy these things enough! Good luck to you and thank you for sharing.....:-}
