Opal "VS" the Giant Angry Pickle

Opal Peaches was enjoying one of her wonderful outlandish daydreams when she was abruptly awoken by a loud rumble. Her usual happy gang of cackling monkeys were awoke as well. She could not figure out why in the world anyone would be making so much racket so early in the morning, how rude. She was as mad as a pregnant penguin, stuck on a melting glacier. She went upstairs to check on her gang of precocious monkeys, Macy, Stacy, Racy and Lacey to make sure they were not too frightened by all the noise. They were all wide awake and very grouchy, especially Macy her sour face said it all. Opal was acting silly trying to cheer the usually peppy monkey up when she heard the awful sound again. This time it was so loud it shook her entire giant banana mansion nearly causing it to collapse.

Opal had to see what was going on, this was ridiculous. She ran down stairs flaming hot ready to share a word or two with the loud, troublemaker. Opal flung open the door just about to spit some words but was left speechless when she saw a horrendous sight. Almost the whole entire town she lived in looked like a mushed up fruit salad. Beautiful huge fruit mansions where squashed into a pulpy juice. Her house and the new pineapple condominium down the street was about the only two left on her block. She quickly ran back inside and went upstairs to make sure her monkeys where still doing alright. She quickly realized they had seen the carnage outside by the frightened looks on their faces. Racy was in tears Opal grabbed her and rocked her telling her she promised she was going to investigate. Pacey asked her what happened Opal could not tell her she did not even know what happened herself. She told Lacey not to worry she would take care of it and told them to grab their backpacks and pack a few things. While they where packing she ran to her room and grabbed her survival bag of gear and put a few of her prized possession in the bag as well. She then called for her gang of monkeys and told them they where going on another adventure. Opal and her little companions slowly opened the door and headed off to the pineapple down the road to see if they might know anything.

When they arrived at the house Opal did not even have to knock. The door flung open and a woman yelled hurry up get inside before that thing comes back by here again. They rushed into the door and were informed by a big burly dog to get underneath the table. Once they were all situated the woman introduced herself as Shelly the librarian then the big burly dog said his name was Butch the Magnificent. Opal thought to herself how much the name fit the dog, boy was he big. Opal introduced herself to them and her gang of monkeys did the same. As soon as the last introduction was made she quickly changed the conversation to find out what was going on, she was so confused and scared.

Shelly explained that while she was reading a book and Butch was half asleep they heard the noise. Shelly looked outside to see what was going on and saw a...she paused for a little bit Opal knew this had to be big. Shelly replied it was a giant angry pickle oh my God Opal gasped those things are vicious we have to find it and end this destruction. Shelly started shaking and asked what are we are going to do that thing is enormous. Opal said do not let my size or my monkeys fool you we are fighters we all just need to stick together.Everyone got their belongings and ate a couple bites then headed out to defeat the pickle.

They did not have to go very far before they spotted the creature boy was it ugly covered in warts and everything yuck. They spotted a big apple core near a trash can and ducked down behind it. Opal told Shelly and Butch to go to the right and that her and her monkeys would go to the left. Which was evidently difficult because it took four tries before she finally looked at Butch and told him if he did not move his big butt she was going cut his tail off to get him to do it. They all tiptoed to the back of the pickle when all a sudden it spun around and cried out the loudest growl Opal had ever heard in her life. Opal puffed out her chest and told it to shut it's big mouth and to have a breath mint. The pickle gave an evil laugh and replied your small as can be I could crush you with one smash. Opal replied maybe so, but you will not get me without a fight big boy so bring it. The pickle started growling again Opal said there you go again with that big mouth what is your problem look at all the damage you have done. The pickle said he did not care and grabbed Macy. Opal told him if he did not put her down she was going to make him wish he did. The pickle just chuckled and put the poor monkey toward his mouth just as he was about to eat the poor little creature he felt a sharp pain on his side.

The pain was so bad he dropped Macy to the ground. Butch quickly ran up to the little monkey scooped her up into his arms and ran to the others. The pickle started to get dizzy and put his hand on his side. You stabbed me I cannot believe it. Opal replied I warned you do not mess with my babies I will hurt ya. The pickle took one last sigh and fell to the ground pickle juice went everywhere. Shelly looked at Opal with complete gratitude. Opal had saved the day again she knew they would have to rebuild her beautiful neighborhood of fruit home but knew with her determination she could do anything. Opal was just about to receive a medal when all a sudden, she heard........

A knocking sound followed by someone saying, "Shelly time for your medication." Opal sat straight up in her hospital bed and looked at the woman standing in front of her with a cup full of pills. Opal looked at her and said you do this all the time to me and started scorning the young woman. The young woman with a badge on her jacket that said Nurse Macy told her to control her temper. Opal told her she might if the woman would quit calling her Shelly. Nurse Macy looked at Opal and replied, " honey, but your name is Shelly and then followed that by saying, well alright then I will call you Opal as long as you take these pills without throwing a fit." Opal hesitated a few moments then replied alright, but these nightmares are horrible. I do not know any of you people coming in here with needles and pills I just want to wake back up. The woman kind of smiled, handed her the pills and told Opal to close her eyes and so she could wake back up.
