Our dear cat possibly returned from Honeymoon tour !
Our dear cat Pussy followed me
in the house,upstairs and downstairs
in the garden and everywhere.
As I gave her a chase for fun,
she ran away fast, hid somewhere
and a little later showed her face
and ran again.
She loved playing hide and seek game
and when tired she would lie flat
on the floor panting and licking her paws
and then eagerly wait for some food
even if she had her lunch only a little while ago.
At times she would stare at me
for quite sometime,
she knew when I would go out
and as I did she would follow me
on the road up to a little distance
and then return home.
On my return, very often,
I could find Pussy sitting on the window.
She would come near me,
curl up on my feet and wag her tail.
When I sat on the sofa she would jump
and sit on my lap.
I had to give her tickle on her ears,
on her throat and talk to her,
give her kisses and comfort.
If there was a delay, she would look at me,
give me a few winks, as if to say,
‘Come on why haven’t you started
all those as yet ?’
When my son was a baby,
just started to walk,
the cat took much interest in him,
would follow him everywhere
with watchful eyes
as if she was his guardian.
She enjoyed his company
as much as my son did.
Oneday I saw Pussy in the garden
along with a big cat who came from
somewhere we did not know.
Both were lying on the grass,
face to face, enjoying the sunshine
and probably having some happy
discussions on matters
that were too private. Wagging of their
tails were gaining momentum.
When called for lunch, Pussy didn’t come.
We searched everywhere but couldn’t find her.
What happened to her, where she could be,
we wondered. We missed her imensely .
My son looked around in the house
helplessly,he must have missed her too.
Three days later
Pussy came in from somewhere
mewing all the way, quite loudly,
letting us all know that she was back
and she was hungry.
She was very special, meal was served
Immediately - her favourite dish
Fish, rice and milk which she devoured
to her heart’s content
and then off she went, jumped on her bed
and got busy cleaning herself.
We all laughed and talked about her.
She was very intelligent, she could understand
every word we said.
She gave us a kind of look which seemed,
as if, she felt very guilty of herself
for being out of the house
all these days making us all feel so miserable.
She couldn’t keep her eyes open for long ,
soon we could hear her snoring
She was fast asleep,
possibly as she was too tired after
her three day long honey moon tour !
