PETALS AND PORTALS

LXV.

How intriguing is this contrast. But is it contrast or merely two sides of the same phenomenon? If everything in our Universe is interrelated, perhaps it is the plus-charge and minus-charge of the same basic energy - why not? The infinitesimal and the infinite. . . . manifesting.

. . . infinitesimal . . .

Anyway, I became intrigued with the playfulness and musicality of these words in tandem, so decided to just have fun with them. I have no better excuse for what follows. Purposefulness is highly overrated. Hope you enjoy it with a measure of abandon, as well. Seems a pleasant distraction for hot summery days. I'm indulging my imagination; you are invited to indulge yours, too!

wild persimmons . . .

Between my hands,

Tenderly,

In awe,

Sensing their inner seeds,

Caressing their outer skin,

Inhaling their heady perfume,

Transformed by their

Mystic power ~

. . . ah - lovely life in rose. . .

. . . book mark . . .

Beautiful blossom

Radiate the light -

Your artistry

In misty white

Illuminates

The shadows

Of the Heart

For Special souls

To See

With only

Inner sight.

Loosen up

The muse -

Profuse!

My quill

Is in a race

To grace

These pages

With thoughts

And imagery

Which soar

The more,

And still

Must find them.

I can't refuse

A one,

Though it amuse

Or sadden -

It insists!

If and when,

Perchance,

To gladden

Heavy hearts,

Uplift mists

Of dismal,

Sagging spirit -

All alone

Till then.

Sometimes

We’re so engrossed with

Continuing tomorrow,

We fail to see today.

And tomorrow, when it portals in,

Is just another wasted day.

No way!

. . . aquarian age . . .

Soul mates,

Star gates,

Reborn, transformed

Dizzying, vitalizing,

Soothing, tranquilizing

Crazy-sober

Funny-sad

Passionate - mad -

On. . . to

Color, sound,

Sight and smell

And touch - oh-touch!

Touch the sound,

Touch the color,

Touch the light

Touch the odor!

Touch reality -

Touch the feel of love.

Open up the inner walls,

Crumble down defenses.

Let the feel of sunlight in,

The feel of it convinces.

Freedom feels like sunshine.

Sunshine feels like freedom.

Here inside.

Reincarnation ~

Crest my soul

Upon pinnacles

Of love and trust.

It is safe

To give and take

And to be filled,

To lap the shore

Then trickle back

To sea once more,

The vital nourishment

Dissolved within

The droplets

Of thyself.

Living fully

In the now,

No sacred cow

Pervades.

I'll not avow

What I can't know

Nor deny the truth I feel.

I hope and dream

Of portals -

But live in

What is real.

The passageway

Into my heart

Is not a thoroughfare.

The combination opening it

Insures a one-way trip,

Not just my will,

But nature's

Own design.

Nellieanna, the poems and the video are beautiful. I caught myself giving those breathless little sighs after each poem and the video? I felt as if I'd briefly stepped into a world of romance. My cat was looking at me as if to say, what the heck is wrong with her?

Nellieanna...Even when you are being "playful", your work exudes beauty, and your philosopher's soul shines within it all. This is a magnificent hub...but then, all of yours fall into the range that requires the use of superlatives for description. (I'm running out of superlatives and will soon need to consult a thesauraus if I'm to do credit to your creativity in my comments!)

JAYE

P.S. Please check your email. I sent you an important (to me) message. Thanks.

Jaye - Aw, thank you. I truly appreciate your praise and the lovely superlatives! Hugs. About the emails. I keep falling asleep in the middle of doing things today. I woke up too early and my bod is just claiming what it needs, it seems. I saw an email but fell asleep before I could reply to it. Going to tend to that now - provided I can stay awake! ;->

Christopheranton - Your words are lovely. "Liebestraum" was one of my dear George's favorites, & I've always loved it too. I'm honored for my writing to be mentioned in the same sentence! Thank you! I have a small plaster bust of Liszt on one of my pianos, a gift from a piano teacher eons ago!

You left a cosmic paper trail of rich colors with your verse as always you will. May your portals be many, may each day you open your eyes be filled with wonder like a childs.

"Does Time escape and Rape away it's life OR is it Given Gracefully in Love."

This verse means much to me as times I feel I am in race with time and my time is short. So I will live each day with grace and enjoy the scents of your verse. You always leave me filled. Hugs

Ken! Once again, your lovely comments fill my heart with smiles. As for anyone's time being short, - the moment is really all any of us is guaranteed and we all have it exclusively to invest. So living it and imbuing it with grace and love - empower it. We get to choose. The other factors begin to take on the colors we lavish on them.

When my second granddaughter was little and we were visiting them in Indiana, she was having a bad morning as she came to our RV to wait with us for her school bus. Such gloom! Her mother wouldn't let her wear what she wanted that day. In the brief time she was there, she got out her crayolas and I gave her paper. She made black circles and lines all over the page, like a picture of her mood. I explained that we get to choose the colors for our day and if she wanted it to be brighter, she could choose brighter colors! She wasn't immediately sold on it, but in a bit she got out the yellow, pink, blue and green and began to draw calmer and brighter pictures. She's all grown up (expecting a baby soon!) and still remembers that. She's also become quite a good artist, just finished her degree and (in spite of many set-backs, bad breaks & poor choices), she intends to apply herself to a fuller and more abundant lifestyle. One just never knows how small a thing can influence someone.

I know you have that ability, with or without my verses, but if they help remind you, I am pleased and honored!

Hugs and have a great one!!
