PROMISE OF TRAINS: A POEM

Trains always have innate romance

The gorgeous sheen of the metal tracks

Chugging away solemnly as if in a trance

Sometimes, I’ve wondered

That there was more to her elusive charm

To her majesty, I’ve surrendered

There is such resolve to her

As if she can bear whatever is thrust

With quite dignity, awe and flair

The best to admire

Is that she has a purpose

Her endeavours never tire

She promises a new tomorrow

A new beginning, a clean slate

And her prowess seems so thorough

Some with dreams of sublimity

Some in quest of their romance

End for one’s tedious eternity

You’re just a person on a train

No one judges, no one cares

For some, naught to lose, naught to gain

Perhaps some day, madam

You may take away those travellers

Away forever, take them

To some perfect place far far away....

Some utopia their hearts desire

Into the lovely past, some day!

A beautiful dream, swaying on the tracks feeling the rhthym. I don't want to wake up, let me sleep in peace in this enchanted dream...
