Creeping on my skin
Staring behind my back
In the back of my mind
Out the corner of my eye.
I distant shadow
A fluttering wind
A pitter patter of footsteps
An ominous grin
What's that sound?
I thought I saw...
With red eyes and Sharp claw
What if monsters were real?
And walked amongst us,
Ghosts and such.
But truth is we are the monsters
There is no limit to how cruel a human can be.
Compared to the demons of the night,
They kneel at our feet.
Child abuse, rape, animal cruelty...
Some humans don't deserve the right to breathe...
We lie we cheat we spread our disease.
Pollute the earth, the air the sea
Waste ourselves, waste our food
Defile ourselves or others depending on our mood.
We are corrupt and full of greed
Confuse what we want with what we need
We forget that everyone bleeds...
Everyone hurts, everyone dies
In the end it just comes down to
Another lost life.
But its not death I fear
It's the unknown
The moments between then and now
Will I reap what I have sown
It's my own consciousness that makes me paranoid.
I don't want to end up alone
Null and void.
I never meant to hurt anyone
At least of all not you.
But we can't control who we fall in love with
And we certainly can't choose.
But we can control the things we do...
