Patience: Love Will Find You Again

Patience...

This is a tribute to the greatness of Patience and Love. Patience has been defined as having the personal capacity to accept and deal with issues that have an ability to delay or create a problem for us, in a manner that best accepts or tolerates those issues, without us becoming overwhelmed, anxious, frustrated or annoyed by them.

I have learned that Patience is also about having the temperament, wisdom and ability to wait, hold, or hesitate and to not simply jump into a situation, even though your initial instincts or other influences, may suggest that you do act immediately.

The act of Patience, or being patient, has the power of helping to cure the pain and anguish, associated with loss, relationship problems, death and in some cases, the realization that sometimes on certain days, it takes a long time before the fish bite.

'Patience (love will find you again)' by Pearldiver is a true poem of hope that is written from the perspective of losing a life partner and the time that it takes to accept the loss and move on, without giving up on the things that made you happy and have helped you grow emotionally. It takes time to grieve and time to comprehend what it takes to build on those positive things that have been gained from the relationship, without giving up, when you must move on alone.

This poem was initially written for Candie - for her loss, her struggle and the greatness of her spirit. 'Patience' is also a tribute to you, if you too have lost the one you loved most and need the confidence of knowing that you will always be loved, when you give love. The images on this page were made by the author and represent the range of emotions that we go through when tragedy strikes our lives. But no matter how dark the days may seem... always love who you are first.... Enjoy this poem and take care...

Tribute to spirit's greatness.

‘Patience’

It's always been special loving you and now more so, since you passed

Though the time we shared was not enough, for me, our love will last

And so hush my special love; I need you to listen to my heart

Remember, with your head upon my chest, as you always lay

It’s been so very long, without the warmth of you here, it says

Yet you still talk to me in my solitude, usually when quiet nights fall

And each day it seems I expect you to arrive back, or to just call

Telling me you’ll be home soon and not to worry my heart at all

But on so many days since, it's snowed, yet no tracks can I find

It’s then I’ve tried to scream out loud, but your smile comes to mind

And so, I feel the beat of patience, slowing down the anguished heart

And an afterglow of your energy lives on, I’ve always loved that part

It's there I look for you, among lost snowflakes, as they seek a place to rest

You see, so subtly, you made me smile again and now I feel blessed

I know how much you’ve loved me and taught me to be strong

I never believed you could, but you just knew, all the lyrics to my songs

And I miss the real time we shared, though I know that life, is now gone

So hush my love, be silent snowflake, come now, rest upon my heart

You taught me to believe, to be proud; to always be true

You gave me the patience to survive, even though I never knew

When you were called, your angels did not keep us far apart

You just kept right on walking through and talking to my heart

I know you’ve been there to make sure, that I would be okay

And we both know that I truly needed that, just to find my way

All this time though, I still seek your warmth on winter days

Friends tell me it’s now time for me, to learn to live and play

For the future, to let you go and so to move on without you

Pretty much the same way, you’ve always told me I should do

Patience, thank you for understanding all my lonely, simple needs

Patience, that helped me understand, each time this heart would bleed

So hush now my love, for when I leave, you will be patient too

Then in time, then in the future, our love will be renewed

And with patience, you can rest in peace and know it's true

The love you gave and showed, will always, come back to you...

Sometime within, your patience....

Such a beautiful tribute to the devastating loss of someone you love. Every single person has lost someone or will at sometime in their lives so it's a universal message.............

Ah PD.. you have found my heart, my life, my Greg. I'm reading this thru blurred, tear-vision. You and only you could put into words, both sides of our conversations. The encouragement, the silence, his voice remains. I love you for this. I shall copy this and keep it forever.

Hi coffeegginmyrice, thank you for taking the time to find and read this piece, I'm glad you enjoyed my words. It is a special poem for special people and the very harsh reality of life which requires a better understanding for most of us and especially those who are currently dealing with grief and it's seeds of self doubt and pain. Thank you for sharing this work and for helping spread the words that I hope will reach those in need.... take care.. PD

Oh cool.. Hi there Barry, I'm pleased to see you still enjoying my poetry and thank you for your perfect comment mate. Yes, this poem really does suit the spoken word... it had to, as it was written as a conversation and thus needs to be presented that way to best portray it's power and emotional spectrum. Good on you for spotting that and good to see a kiwi that enjoys the words of another... you take care my friend and cheers... PD

Pearldiver 4 years ago from Tomorrow - In Words & NZ Time. Author

Hi Ruby, thanks for that and yes, it had that effect on me as I wrote it... I had to mentally put myself in this situation and consider the exact words to best describe the spectrum of emotions one has. I had never met Candie or Greg before, nor had I much knowledge of their life together... but you can find it all in her writing, as you can with so many people, when one looks for the heart between the lines, so to speak... I'm glad you enjoyed this piece... you take care... PD

Hi ExoticHippieQueen, thank you for reading and leaving such a positive comment to this tribute... you are completely right in your words and I am sure that this poem will reach a lot of people in such circumstances when shared as genuine words of comfort... I'm pleased that you liked 'Patience' as much as I enjoyed writing it for a friend... all the best.. take care... PD

Oh Candie, you deserved such a poem and I remember telling you that well over a year ago... which of course also fitted with or rather dictated it's title... So please, do make the words immortal and they will have served many purposes beyond a tribute to both you and Greg.

I am truly pleased that you appreciated this poem and the promise that it would be written when the right words filled the pen... Perhaps you should put a link to this piece in your tribute piece and then your readers will also appreciate the relevance of the poem... take care and thank you for helping to inspire the friendship and the words... PD

Rob, thank you for that lovely reply to my comment! Apologies for being so slow returning & seeing it!

Maria has graciously featured me among her current interviews of some 20 Hubber gals and commenting on the others as they are published, then replying to comments on mine has really been a pleasurable but rather constant Hubtivity, along with some major 'real life' ones in current progress! (Yeah - there are still those happening! haha)

Hi there PDX, thanks for that, I'm glad you enjoyed this piece, it is one of my favorite poems and seemed to call for images that showed depth and the appearance of a journey on a winding path... so I photographed some native (local) broken sea shells - et voila! Hmm... I thought about that but.... Flying for 14 hours nonstop is pretty hard for any husky, but that's not impossible... what really makes it virtually impossible is that there is a head wind all the way, there are no trees along the way and from downunder, it's all uphill!

Pearldiver profile image

Pearldiver 4 years ago from Tomorrow - In Words & NZ Time. Author

Hj Nellieanna, you are welcome... cheers for responding... Well then I guess I must go and read all the glowing reports on you and your work. I'm sure that will keep you busy all right... and deservedly so Nellieanna. Yes it is important to keep up with real life stuff as well, it sneaks up on you if you aren't careful... I have a similar situation... I have just started writing a major fiction novel that I've wanted to write for a long time and I've just completed a collection of 100 poems that give me 'stock' for publishing - I might put an album up here, but in reality, we poets are getting the short end of the stick here and we really are better off publishing and marketing ourselves to the world outside of HP... busy times... I hope they're all good for you... take care my friend... PD

The reason that it's a major work is that it will take a whole year to write and has quite a lot of location research to do... but it is an awesome script (with movie in mind maybe) ... (hahaha I must ask Mr Bean if he is prepared to dive emotional shipwrecks, wearing only gumboots and a strategically placed sock!) Sure, I'll let you know when I've managed to see the final draft come together... I should have started last year! lol.

Wonderful hub Pearldiver. Patience is so important in life and in love. It is hard when we are in long relationships and the person we have loved dies or we lose them in some way. I am dealing with these emotions myself and your hub helped me alot. I absolutely love the poem. It is very beautiful and touched my heart. I also love your art work. I love "Finding You" and the series on "Tranquility" Is it digital art?

Hi caroline, I'm sorry to hear that you have suffered a loss and are finding your way again on a whole different path... I'm really happy that my poem 'Patience' gave you some well meant soul food to help sustain a little balance... As a poet, that is one of the most satisfying things about what you write... if your words can help one person, then they are worthy of the heart used to create them.

Thank you for your kinds words... the tranquility pics are photos that I have taken and crafted and yes the balance is a layered digital art composite... good luck on your journey caroline and cheers for your support... you take care... PD
