Picture Poems

Here I am in a house divided against itself

no, windows, no doors

how can I escape from this place?

I would love to see the world

instead of visualizing about foreign lands

walking the white sandy beaches

carrying my shoes in my hands.

We take life for granted

living with constant shame

Lest said soonest mended

Here I am in a house divided against itself

however, better the devil I know

than the devil I don't know

The night wind whistle through the cracks

in the walls of this Victorian house

I can hear the squeaking sound of a mouse

Rat! they fought the dogs,

and killed the cats

however, they are my only companions

in this lonely mansion.

days turned into weeks and weeks into months

and months into years,

no compassion from my captor

This is my life and I want it back

have I lost the will to live?

I can feel my bond weakening

and my strength returning

Freedom must come soon.
