The world is a memory

The past a blessing

The past a curse
Is this our reality?

But what is real?
What we see and hear?
Or what we think and feel?

The future full of hope
Anything but reality
The only way to cope
Anything but reality

Mankind's secret world
Locked in our own minds
So much more than we see
Living behind closed blinds

But what is real?

Living in the past
With someone who is gone
Dreaming of a future
Hoping to right a wrong

Always where we're from
Or where we're going
Never where we are
Always ignoring

But what is real?
What we see and hear?

Thoughts and emotions
Who we really are
All our little secrets
Will they be your memoir?

Your pain is my pain
My tears are your tears
Our hopes to be shared
As we admit our fears

Give me your hand
So I can feel something real
We are God's creation
