Poem: As Long As I Breathe

One frosty morning before the Christmas,

Icy crystals whisked smoothly aside by the window,

And I stepped out of the cottage,

Gingerly treading on the snow…

Far away on a shimmering horizon,

The cotton-white mountains prayed

Folding their hands devoutly,

They welcomed me with a peculiar gaze…

A heavenly sight captivated my Soul

And I marched towards the Golden Light;

It was not facile as tides obstructed my route!

‘So what?’ I thought, impediments come and go;

Even by piercing the rocks, the river perpetuates to flow…

Suddenly, thunderous Light ensued in the Sky;

O Surabhi, brave Hearts dare to climb the hill;

Like an unflinching mountain, they stand firm with will;

So now I am not afraid of any storm or veil,

Instead I’d fight against the odds with zeal…

I reached to the peak and then another crest challenged,

I did not cease, I continued running…

It is true that in short span of a human life,

Great Souls make their birth worthwhile,

They keep on trying and never get tired even for a while…

I smiled and promised to myself with peace –

I’ll continue making my efforts for as long as I breathe;

As the flower is aware that it will wither away

In a few hours or in a day, but as long as it lives,

It takes vows to Blossom the world…

Yep, the path of fire… the path of thorns... and… the path of ultimate triumph! Thank you. Have a wonderful 2016 celebration.

Al,

It didn’t snow here in Toronto either. Christmas was without snow, but was joyful. Ha ha – that poetry is just my imagination. Thank you, my dear. Wish you a fantastic year ahead!

Shaloo,

I love your kind sentiments, sweet sister. They uplift my morale. Bahut saara pyaar (Love in Abundance). Nice profile picture by the way. I hope you had a great Christmas celebration. I wish you a prosperous coming year.
