Poem - It's Alright

It was another hot day
Like always
I was walking slow and thinking about the night
Then some words appeared in my mind
And I knew it would be alright

It was another beautiful girl
Like always
I was staring at her and thinking about the night
Then her naked body flew into my mind
And I knew it would be alright

It was another setting sun
Like always
I was sadly silent and thinking about the night
Then its darkness enveloped my mind
And I knew it would be alright

It was another long day
Like always
I was tired and thinking about the night
Then my fatigue disappeared into my mind
And I knew it would be alright

It was another long conversation
Like always
I was relating and thinking about the night
Then nothing was left in my mind
And I knew it would be alright

I was made for the night
I solve its mysteries
I keep its secrets
Into the coming light

It's hot... like always
She's beautiful... like always
It's gone... like always
It's over.... like always
I'm done... like always
It's alright... like always

So pretty, I love the 'it will be alright' lines after each one. Sometimes we do forget that it Will be alright. Beautiful.

Thank you Bobbi...

It's alright because it always is... I'm here now and when I look back at all the things I've worried about and how today I'm happily writing poems it's turned out alright... it always does for some reason... it doesn't mean I haven't suffered... but it turns out all right.

Thank you Yasmeen for saying that. It's a big honor for me especially from someone WHO HAS A HIGHER HUB SCORE THAN ME! Ha.... I hate those numbers but it's alright..

I really appreciate your comments and you reading my poems. I always wonder if the next one is going to be read or only spawn the sound of crickets...

Those reassuring words: Don't worry ... It will be alright - ones of hope.

A wonderful poem.

God bless you Mark.

Thank you rich... I don't want it to be a "Don't worry, be happy" song because I read once that Bobby Mcferrin caught some abuse due to the supposed/alleged naive message about suffering in life but for me I find those plateaus where life has leveled off and have a happy moment or day or week or month or year. I just have to remember that they will come.... like always...

Poet- While others see this as a positive commentary I see it as a statement of knowing, and rather sad. Your ending repetition of "like always" shows me the wandering of a mind that knows it is stuck - but that life goes on while it wants something more. To me the walking thinker wants it really to be alright and to have something last. Thats the beauty of poetry - we can explore thoughts with our own tinted glasses.

Great job Poet!

Thank you Cheyenne,

It can be what one wants it to be... certainly there is hope in there but there is also the reality of the struggle and the need to remind myself in the face of uncertainty that it will be alright... that then arrests the plumment into hopelessness and depression....

I like that despite the moments of despair, there is also hope. It is a reminder not to let the things of this life pull you down so far that you can't rise again.

Another great hub. It is indeed 'alright'. :o))

Thank you kirutaye,

We all suffer; hopefully we all have moments of happiness and the settling of all problems or grievances. That has been my life and I can anticipate further pain but further glory and happiness....
