Rap Poem - So You Think I Suck?

To Those Who Criticize the Poet Rap

You think I suck
So what?
Who are you?
Passing thru
Casting aspersions
Creating diversions
From your life
So full of strife
Bringing your anger
To pour on a stranger
Like me here
Your hapless deer
In the headlight
Of your sight
Judging my words
Which fly like birds
Trying to caress
And feather the nest
Of another's mind
While you come from behind
To ensure that
My words fall flat
And achieve no fame
Because to you, it's a game
Of scorn and destruction
Transferring your mind's dysfunction
Onto those who try
To express their own cry
For justice and peace
In a world that won't cease
To push ordinary folk
Into a life that is a joke
Of superficial pursuits
Like Armani suits
Well, my friend
My take will never end
But today I will pause
And take up a good cause
And await the condemnation
Of those who without hesitation
Seize my word
And say.... They've already been heard...

Thanks... I kind of envisioned this as a rap song aggressively defending the turf of poets who have the nerve to be themselves....
