A POEM ABOUT C.A.N.C.E.R

Hey there,

Yes You!

I’m sure you’ve heard of me...

Some say, I’m like a bullet

Traveling at 896 m/s

That when I hit you, I hit everyone else around you.

I’m the epitome of the greatest pain in the world

And yet you feel none of it

Others say I’m the enemy you fear not to face

No matter how strong or weak

Rich or poor,

Ugly or handsome

Fat or skinny...

To be honest, I’m a choice no one chooses

So I choose you

Do you recognize me now?

Of course you don’t

I’m C.A.N.C.E.R

An equation yet to be solved

A magic trick’s secret yet to be discovered by Penn and Teller!

In memory of anyone you know that has been struck down

by cancer or is still living with it...

Richbryan, this is an awesome tribute. I don't know anyone that hasn't either watched someone they know battle this foe or stared it in the face themselves. I have lost several people I loved to this insidious disease. You so eloquently implied it is a monster whose does not discriminate. Awesome hub!

Sadly, none of us can build a 'protective shield' against cancer. It comes uninvited, and for many it's often too late before they even know they have it. Both of my parents-in-law died of cancer years ago. Nobody can be safe from it. Good hub.
