Poems - Haikus

Source

Drizzle

Soggy clouds dribble drops,

As traffic moves and birds twitter

Muddy leaves quiver on twigs.

***

Sunshine

Rich tailor-made craft

Cool shades of old peepal tree glisten

Lo! Sun wraps in a golden scarf.

***

Separation

Water is separated from its river

Tis loneliness enduring penalty

Alas! Companion bids adieu today.

Your words flow unlike the river mentioned in your Haiku. Nice work my friend. whonu

Haiku may appear to be short and simple, but there is a true art in writing them successfully Surabhi, and you are a true artist. Beautifully flowing.

Lovely haikus but I especially like the Drizzle... Writing a haiku is like crafting a masterpiece each time. Well done!

What a pleasure to read someone's haiku which really measures up to the definition and strict guidelines of that poetic style. Many people apply their own rules to lines of the prescribed number and length, but omit or reinterpret further application of haiku 'rules'. I avoid writing it for the most part because I don't prefer to write by rules much AND because I respect and honor those which guide the beautiful haiku format and traditions.

I love to read good haiku.

Hugs, dear Surabhi. I'm also been running here and there, preparing for my relative's visit; - and now he is here! He arrived today. So wonderful to have him here.

You're surely busy preparing for your own trip! I'll be thinking of you!

My Beloved Nellieanna,

Endless Hugs, my Sweetie-pie! I don’t know why, but whenever I chat with you, I automatically come up with these sweet nick-names for you. Didn’t I tell you that I have enclosed you in my Heart? (smile). I am so delighted to note that your relative is here! Have fun to the fullest! Life is all about merriment and cheer. I am sure you’re having a great time.

I was thinking of you the other day when I was at my Aunt’s place. Now that I have the key to your Heart, I’ll enter without even knocking. Aha! I have just emailed you.

Awww. Here you go – take my Heart with you. Keep it in a secure place. I will always be with you, my Love. Take care. Muaaah!!

I'm delighted that you feel welcome to enter without knocking, dear. As I said, I'll be thinking of you while you're away. My company leaves tomorrow (Tuesday) just as you're leaving for India.

He and I will have only the morning to finish our visiting. It's been so comfortable and enjoyable. Hadn't seen him for a couple of years prior to this visit. So we packed a lot into it, in a relaxed way.

Bon voyage!
