I am the anxiety that sets in
when you pull down the shade.
I am something in your mind,
but I am not man-made.
I am the concept you cannot grasp
I've been neglected for so long.
I am the the splinter under your nail.
The feeling I bring you is so strong.
I am the darkness that comforts you
when the day is through.
I am hiding in the shadows,
waiting to pounce on you!
I will eventually catch you off guard,
there's no reason to hide.
I will seduce you with my charm,
you'll experience the ultimate high!!
But when you finally come down
you'll never feel the same,
for now I've worked my spell on you
and played my little game.
Now to bring a comforting thought -
I'm not a chemical nor a drug.
You may call me what you wish,
but most people call me love.

A poem about regret
In order to be able to decorate a beautiful cake, you need to start with a perfect base. A blank canvas, if you will. You wouldn't buy an actual canvas with a hole in it, would you?
