Poli-Tick Talk

Poli-Tick Talk: A Poetry Reading

poli-tic tac toe

Whose turn?
Whose turn?

a political limerick

Poli-tick talk.

Tick Tock.

Boom.

Bang.

What a Shock.

Poli-ticking and talking,

And totally shocking

Grown men

And women

In kinderstockings.

America's wondering,

Why are you floundering?

Do your jobs

Foolish snobs

And stop all the squandering.

Poli-talk ticking

And Nit picking

Tax and

Relax

The clock’s ticking.

Poli-tick talk.

Tick Tock.

Boom.

Bang.

What a Shock.

Love it! Politics could be so cool, but it has lost something. I don''t know if there was ever a time that such a virtue as integrity was ever a part of politicks, but I think it could be! Well I guess everyone knows now how naive I am!!

Thanks Vern. I think you're on to something! not just the virtue of integrity. virtue of any kind! Dichotomy and absolutism do not nurture virtue, I suppose.

The clock is melting under the heated glare of so much dissatisfaction, the hands that could change the times into something far more worthwhile are bent from the burdens of the nervous tics, the endless angst filled talks, and the alarms which are always going off over nothing more serious then just another day of trying to make the life as we know it now, far more timeless.~~Great Write~~~MFB III

Beautiful MFB! Thanks for sharing such well chosen words and thoughts. Your reply is poetic and profound....and a nice way to start the day. Thank you.

Following MFB just makes me feel inadequate! I could never top anything that guys says. "The clock is melting under the heated glare..."

Nevertheless- great poem! When children grow up they pretend that one of these parties is the best. One will be the worst. If they argue with each other long enough and loud enough the masses will think they can make the "repair" a few years later. Meanwhile- both parties have no intention of forsaking the money and power that brought them to power.

Phooey! I like MFB's better. Can we switch?

We can't all achieve MFB's level of genius, and it would be dull world if we were all alike. MFB is profoundly poetic. You are poetically profound, Micky. It could take me as long to come up with a comment like his, as it does to write another hub! Once again, I really do appreciate your taking the time to comment Micky.

Love your work, James. I'm not sure if there is hub etiquette on linking. Thanks for taking the time to check out my poem - political limerick.

Wow Kim, this hub was written 15 months ago but it seems more relevant now than ever. Our country's credit rating is at stake and there is a possibility of default on paying bills if the politicians can't get their act together. Today's newspaper front page showed Reid and Boehner in diapers acting like whiny crybabies!

You said it well in this clever political limerick:

"Grown men

And women

In kinderstockings."

Cool poem. Voted up, useful, funny and interesting.

Thanks Happyboomernurse! I could see it coming! There was too much splitting, divisiveness, criticizing and blaming. A house divided... Sadly, it's been relevant for too long! I saw your interview with Dr Bill. It was very well done. I couldn't find where or how to comment though.

There is no place to comment on Hubber to Hubber interviews. I appreciate your complement on the interview I did with Dr. Bill Tollefson. He was a great interviewee, very interesting and professional, and I felt honored to do an interview with him. He's also a cool guy.

Again, thanks for letting me know you enjoyed reading it.

HBM - not sure how I missed your comment here:) I think I got it but didn't reply for some reason. Anyway - months later - no problem. It was well done.
