Prose - Is Blue My Fate?

As my boredom ferments
I no longer look to your eye
For truth and a reason to live
I look to the sky
I am an only cloud
Or a patch of blue in a storm
As I look for my kind
I find I can no longer conform
Seeking answers
From an invisible source
I want to believe in something
I tire of pretentious discourse
You tell me the falsehood of revelation
While another swears on the book
As the offering of truth nears my mind
I take the bait but not the hook
Experience is my curse
And my blessing
With waning enthusiasm
I tire of guessing
Where is joy
If not for my children?
Where is meaning
If not for a question?
Each day passes
While lost in thought
Seeking an unknown respite
Am I waiting to be bought?
The glory seeker
Unable to live in anonymity
Yet avoiding human contact
To be alone in the city
My words
Are they my own?
Or do they pass
As assumed insight on loan
To the ego gratifier
Who has turned to the mirror
For his narcissistic answer?
His mind his only pleasure
His presence your gift
Until you depart
At the intersection
Of love and hate in his heart
What a sad man
Always in retreat
Leaving happiness to die
In the wake of his deceit
To himself
And those he cannot love
Because they are not him
They are unworthy of
His vulnerability
His passion
His humility
Except as a ration
In his lure for their approval
Not as a friend
Or a lover
But as the end
Of their search
For meaning
And while they smile
He continues scheming
To feed
His quest
As the lone eagle
Perched on a lofty nest
To look down
On those he will judge
Unworthy to wear a crown
What has boredom wrought
But arrogance instead of caring?
What has freedom gained
But hubris instead of sharing?
Yes he needs them
More and more each day
And then he tells them
To go away
What a sad man
Yes it is true
In the color spectrum
I can only see blue
Does the sky answer
In its beautiful state?
Or am I only drawn
Because the color reveals my fate?

The color is temporary. Your fate is multi-colored - for sure!
