Prose - Our Eyes Have Met

Source

Our eyes have met
And a moment
Has become a lifetime
Of torment
Our eyes have met
But who are we?
Now I want you
Is it superficiality?
Our eyes have met
A blank mind
And frozen body
What will hope find?
Our eyes have met
Lips once so loud
Whisper quiet harmony
Penetrating the crowd
Our eyes have met
In the smoky air
Swirling hazy mist
Softening my stare
Our eyes have met
Foreplay ambience
Flesh whirling
Dance floor séance
Our eyes have met
Your call I hear
Heartbeat racing
As I draw near
Our eyes have met
Each step
Shorter than the last
An uncertain duet
Our eyes have met
Distance unchanging
An endless path
Fearful hesitating
Our eyes have met
But you already knew
It was so obvious
You wanted me too
Our eyes have met
My words await
Will you believe
Rolling dice fate
Our eyes have met
I want to talk
Take your hand
And walk the walk
Our eyes have met
But will this tale of allure
Be about lies?
How can I be sure?
Our eyes have met
Will you come my way?
Open your mind
Tell me you’ll stay
Our eyes have met
What life has brought
In that moment
All this I’ve thought
Our eyes have met
Now we touch
I can feel your breath
I want you so much
Our eyes have met
Our paths have crossed
Will the journey begin
Or will I remain lost?
