Prose - Remembrance For A Family

Source

Today we gladly reopen the wounds
Because a scar fades away
Taking with it the memories
That we wish never to forget
We allow ourselves to cry again
Never wishing away the tears
Forever in our minds as you were
We, changed, living with the sorrow
You bring us life with your absence
Sharp love and pain always with us
Emotions making life more than an illusion
Your life and death a vivid reality
Bringing us closer together as your family
Must we suffer death to see you again
When your spirit is so alive today?
The light of angels shower over us
Washing our injured minds with your beauty
Did you find meaning in death?
As we have found meaning in life?
We pray you have found joy
Even as we suffer with our bitterness
Yet we live on with your memory
Bonding us together as life never could
One day, closer to God we will become
Our family, torn apart, back as one

Your prose is very touching. It is difficult to lose loved ones, especially before their time. Thanks for sharing your perspective through these words.

@Mike - thank you for commenting. Yes it is and it's tough every year for many to make that trek to the cemetary and remember....

I hate going to the cemetry, but i feel that all of my loved one's are in heaven, waiting for me to arrive, i'm in no hurry. There's much we can do here on earth to make it a better place. Thank you.
