Purpose for life
Why Are We Here?
There is not a single person out there that has not wondered why they are here. Why are we living? What's our purpose on Earth? Especially if we seem to be suffering so much lately. With mental illnesses at their high I decided to share a small part of a poem that I have in my book "Hidden Light " with you. It's called "Purpose" and I wrote it for exactly that reason.
Why on earth was I born when it seems like I suffer so much? I wrote "Hidden Light" for people with mental illnesses and even those who are just going through hard times to see that even then, during those dark times there is light, there's some good. It's just hidden.
What am I to do?
What is my destiny?
I have no idea, not a clue
Feeling lost and empty.
What is my dream?
What is my future?
I beg thee to listen to me,
I beg thee to answer.
To This Day
It's true that even now I still don't know the answer and I don't really believe I ever will. Right now it seems the bad days out number the good and that is why I bring up this poem again. "Purpose". While I'd still like to know my purpose in life I read the words now and somehow they hold another meaning for me. Interesting on how that works out.
If you are suffering from a mental illness please seek out help because believe me you are never alone out there, no matter how often it seems you are. Trust me, I always feel like I am. I just have to keep on telling myself I'm not.
If you enjoy poetry and would like to read a few that may help you realize you're not alone check out my book "Hidden Light."
