Rictameter poetry, Alone

Hopefull invitation

Alone

Walls closing in

Listening for a sound

The telephone, the door buzzer

Automobile honking loudly next door

Excited happiness erupts

Hopeful invitation

Unneighborly

Alone.

Great write, also caught that the shape of the words forms an arrow. Creative and written well. Great choice of video!

I told myself I would only read ten hubs today and then I would go out to play....yours, of course, had to be one of the ten. Great job as always; I am always amazed at how much emotion you squeeze into so few words.

Have a wonderful weekend Ruby!

Wonderful! I had to go back and see the arrow shape - very cool - because I was too intent on the words. I agree with Billybuc - lots of emotion in so few words. Voted up!

Simply beautiful and tender, I loved it. Brilliant. Hugs and the video a favorite song of mine by the late Marvin Gaye.

I told myself I would only read five hubs today and then I would go back to working ....yours, of course, had to be one of the five. LOL The Rictameter, is very tricky poetry, it takes a lot of thought. Well done Always, as always. Tomorrow is Speakeasy Night.

Incredibly creatively original, always exploring, yet very realistically hopeful and sad. Extraordinarily executed and equally moving.

When I checked out your video, I mistakenly yet gladly thought about John Travolta in Michael and his fantastic line dance, as I somehow connected it to "Heard it through the Grapevine", when it was actually danced to Aretha Franklin's "Chain of Fools". So, your piece brought me the enjoyment of your video and sent me to check of Chain of Fools and that fantastic dance scene in Michael. Thank you

You did not miss a thing, Ruby, at that wild party next door.

They were doing drugs and now face a sentence of two to four ...

"I HEARD IT THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE..."

Sweet sister Ruby, I love how you are 'always exploring' different forms of writing - its always so provocative and genuine. This one caught me deeply in my heart. I know all too well about those evenings alone without the t.v. in the apartment when you can hear everything. I love how you throw in the invitation in one word, and leave so much to the imagination. Voted up and awesome. Love ya!

Aye Ms. Ruby, truly always exploring, a new form of poetry that I'll completely unfamiliar with. Heck is don't need no fancy name as is always good coming from your pen to my page. I had to vote this one up and awesome. Thanks for the great entertainment.

Peace and blessings,

dust

always exploring profile image

always exploring 4 years ago from Southern Illinois Author

Hello Dust, This kind of poetry is new to me too. It's done by counting syllables..First line two-second line four-third line six- fourth line eight- fifth line ten-sixth line eight-seventh line six-eighth line four-ninth line two---first and last line, same word--No rhyming.. A lot of counting syllables. I'm happy you liked it. Thank you..

Peace and blessings

Ruby.

Ruby, that is definitely a mind twister, I copy and paste the section that you described it in. I'll have to get out my pencil and paper and play with that little bit, heck I might accidentally be able to do something the right way.

You definitely did, I hope you enjoy your day.

Blessings,
