Pop up books were always a firm favorite in my household when my children were young and even now I see the delight in the faces of youngsters when the tag is pulled.

The "slow reveal" is a technique I use as a teacher in the classroom today and children (up to the age of 9 or 10) love it. Robert Sabuda pop up books give you, the reader such an easy tool to do this and your children and grandchildren will love you even more.

Using pop up books its so easy to create some magic using this approach and I marvel at how such a simple thing will light up the faces of children. They just don't get bored with it because the three D effect of the pop up changes in different lights.

Of course some pop up books are better than others and that's one of the reasons that the Robert Sabuda Mathew Reinhardt books have featured on the New York Times best selling list of books. They are works of art and they aren't just for kids as they also make a great gift idea for discerning adults.

Who Is Robert Sabuda?

Robert Sabuda first noticed pop up books when he visited the dentist. He then experimented with old manila folders his mother bought home.

But his experimentation didn't stop there as he attended New York's Pratt Institute where he formally studied art.

His success is now legendary. He develops books sure to delight children and please adults with titles such as Prehistorica Dinosaurs, and the divine book America the Beautiful.

I must have been in the third grade when my teacher introduced pop up books to us. I still remember the rabbit popping up out of the house. I forgot the name of the story though. That was well over, it feels, like a hundred years ago. But, I still remember the pop up book! I haven't thought about my childhood for many years. Thanks for the memories! :-)
