Campfire Songs of a Cult in California for Kids...

We
Would
Sing this:

" Have fun
Having it all
From myself
From everyone..."

From the first rays of the sun
Asking to please turn the volume up
Looking like a little boy underage 21
Like a little girl still sucking on thumbs
In this way I have already had such good luck that
Is this why I have decided that we should really try
While its still windy and we still are having fun
In other words, I had a lot of fun doing nothing at all
I am inclined to keep stirring the murky waters up
So let's see how it feels today
I still don't know how many if any of you
Remember being teenagers or not, but if you do
This one is dedicated to all of you
If you are a teen, I can't wait to see you growing up
With all that is real and creatively hidden inside you
Now and then, as if you are on the other hand
Do you still seek those authority figures

Every morning
Then we would
Hold out our hands
Then we would sing:

" After you are gone
We strayed and yes
We have been so bad
But thankful for your love
And for sending the searchers
And to give us a chance
We vow to do our best..."

For even after you are home again
School bells ringing in your dreams
Teacher becoming the student again
You must become somebody or something
And guess who supervises everything
And guess who is under the influence
And guess who is in charge of the children
Several days, if not every hour of the weekdays
Some will ask if they may use any of these topics
But if you have a teen that is writing poetry again
You may not write anything so poetic as what they have
Unseen by all, they will not have any Mommy or Daddy
Nothing about them is worth writing about
Nothing about them can answer the inequality
Hands over mouths hush them to listen
PC usernames get past password encryption
Pretty good yet privately without any descriptions
Opposition that told them how to counteract the facts
Who said that you can't even supervise your household

Every evening
Then we would
Hold out our hands
Then we would sing:

" After you are gone
Oh Dad it is going to
Break my heart again
The love you have shown to me
After reading your letters
The first thing I thought
Was Dad I don't want you to leave..."

Friendly and sorry for the kids
Golden as rulers in my little utopia
You may not use your child's real name
You may not use your friend's real names
You may not use your pseudonyms
You may not use your nicknames or your passwords
Because the new ones must be substituted
Although all adults, teachers, pets, and counselors
Beware and be encouraged to give their full names
Mark their full return addresses and all vital stats
Also give into that which will be their temptation
And tomorrow your house can be vandalized

We would sing campfire songs all day long
We were left there alone in a cult in California
We were so happy all day singing campfire songs
We were glad our parents had sent us there after all
Then we would say our prayers
And then all night long we would sing:

" And if we promise that we will carry it on
At least we will try with all of our heart
But before you go we just want you to know
Oh Dad we are going to carry it on..."

Handy but necessary are those little evils
If you are in possession of anything
If you are responsible for a child for any reason
Another one will become like you are to them
Other than the legally binding pages
Only black and listed above you
Young enough to know that they are not welcome
You shall not be allowed to write anything
From the twisted subjects exceptionally missing links
Where your local sheriff and county authorities
Can find the child safely and arrest you
Without giving you any of the details

Every evening
Then we would
Hold out our hands
Then we would sing:

" After you have gone
Oh Dad it is going to
Break my heart again
The love you have shown to me
After reading your letters
The first thing I thought
Was Dad I don't want you to leave...

And if we promise that we will carry it on
At least we will try with all of our heart
But before you go we just want you to know
Oh Dad we are going to carry it on..."

Enough said about nothing
Thanks for your participation
Everyone will be looking back up
While everyone underage waits for you
While everyone is still sucking on thumbs
Waiting for those really wonderful things
That everyday leaves written on chalkboards
All of us facing and towards the blackboards
Anticipation standing inside the homeroom
From the first days becoming
From everything that remains
From everyone under the sun
And we are still having fun

We would sing campfire songs all day long
We were left there alone in a cult in California
We were so happy all day singing campfire songs
We were glad our parents had sent us there after all
Then we would say our prayers
And then all night long we would sing:

" And if we promise that we will carry it on
At least we will try with all of our heart
But before you go we just want you to know
Oh Dad we are going to carry it on..."

Then we would thank God
That we would never have to leave
