Rumrunners on the northern sea.......

Source

Awakening to the grey dawn ....full sail......
and sea day two..... begun
Yet before the running tides are lost
our schooner loading down with rum

We sail her down from the cape of bretton towards the
isle's of portland maine
Only to see on aft ......another ship
the revenuers have spotted our main !

She fires a shot across our bow
but the fog she hides our path
Hopefully for good ..... and .tacking west
to avoid the lawmans wrath

She fires again and closer too
our rudder now is altered
That's okay we'll sail away
true sailors can't be faltered

Go below and get the captain .......
we need his hands on deck
But the captains drunk on his own rum
Oh boys now what the heck

Surrender they cry ...... across the bay
"Aaiiiee the revenuers' can kiss me arse"
So stay the ropes my sailor boys
the sea is forever sparse

We'll sail away till the sun has set
or the revenuers' ship is done
Not to worry .....they'll never catch us
as long as we have the rum

Voted up and awesome. Still sailing the deep blue sea with you. Made me feel like I was aboard. My favorite line which still has me giggling But the captains drunk on his own rum. Super.
