Running Till I Can Not Run Anymore

How far can I go ?

Sometimes you have to break out

Change things up a bit to give your life just a bit of excitement

You could walk where you have gone many times before

But I am asking you to do something different

To start to run in any direction and keep running until you feel it in your gut

I am not talking about the pain in your side from lack of exercise

I am talking about freedom to go where your body takes you

When you have little time to think

Maybe you will run down a street you have passed for years and never took notice

Maybe you will run down a dead end street only to realize you have to go back the same way you came

You can look at the many different colors that houses are painted

You can look at who needs their grass cut and smell who just cut theirs

Listen to the sound the your feet make when they make contact with the cement then the grass and then the dirt road

A sound that has gone unnoticed for many years

As your huffing and puffing you can let your mind wonder and dream of a distant thought

Looking down toward the ground you may see your legs pumping wildly

Careful not to trip on an unexpected object or branch in your way

But all in all you can have the most fun you have had in a very long time

You can pick up the speed and see how far you can go

You can slow yourself down to a slow jog and barely move

Yes you feel like everything is in slow motion and you will never get where you are going

You can jog carefully backwards only to see your life as a preview of what others see long before you do

Look around you and people watch that is so much fun

By now you have worked up an appetite

For life and all the beauty your eyes can see

It is time to carry these thoughts with you where ever you go

Simple fun that was exciting and different

Penniless and powerful

The time you have taken has refreshed your mind

As you experienced so much more

You opened a new door to your world

That lets peace and happiness in

That is enviromentally safe and a good exercise to do

As long as you do not over do it

You travel light and have to constantly be aware as you watch others go speeding by

Where they go they might not know either

But one thing is for sure

When you get where you are going

You will be so much happier and proud to say

I went out for a run and I came back learning one of lifes greatest lessons

Where ever I am at

I got there by my two feet

So make it special and unique in some way

Because you may never travel to this place again

Wouldn't it be nice

That every day after this

Each step we took was blessed with fun

I love walking, I could walk forever. "wherever I am at, I got there by my two feet." Thats one of the best feelings!!

Carolina Muscle I think if we walk or run it gives us time to slow down life and enjoy the little things that we would normally miss.I use to live near the beach and when you walk on the waters edge nothing else seemed to matter.Thank you so much.I hope all is great with you.Dim Flaxenwick I will have to spend my time some day and tell you how much I keep learning from you.I am just so happy you find the time to read something that I wrote that didn't exsist hours ago.You make me want to walk and run with my mind where by body sits still.If my stories get one smile it is worth it.Tell me where you have walked and lets share some fun what you have seen?Thanks a bunch.DoorMattnomore When I was younger I could leave in the morning and wouldn't come back to later in the afternoon and go as far as my legs would take me.It didn't matter where.I miss those days.When you get older you get so busy and forget to make time for yourself.Thank you and walk on....
