Sending wishes to our friends,

Can often make us think,

What do we, really want to say?

Which words shall we partake?

Love, joy and cheers ring true,

A special thought just from you.

Bless the receiver of these greetings,

And remember well their meanings,

For every little thing we express,

May bring much needed happiness.

Wait not for their special day,

To make the wishes on display,

The special person on your list,

May be the one you truly miss.

Miles may keep the distance far,

But hearts don’t travel in a car.

Phone calls and letters serve,

To tell a friend what they deserve.

But everyone likes greeting cards,

Send them one with your regards.

This is lovely enough to be on a card of its own. Great job and a pertinent reminder.

Thank you, fibo777 and Hyphenbird. I sometimes forget special events and resort to sending "Thinking Of You" cards instead.

I think cards sent "just because" often mean even more than the ones people may expect to get on holidays. They mean you sent a card because you wanted to, not because it was time to send a card.

I agree, WaanaB Writer. Just a caring thought, just because, means a lot.

very nice poem for wishes to our friend. Usually by card, whether living nearby or far. It doesn't matter if you are not there. The greetings shows that you care. Voted up

Thanks for your nice comment, peachpurple. I really should get back to writing more poems.
