Sad Times

When times are sad and make me cry.

I find peace and solace when I look at the sky.

I watch the birds put on a show.

They make their nests and watch below.

They see their prey and away they go.

They swoop right down and catch their food

They feed their young and watching s good.

This always makes me think of mother.

The memories of loving days we shared with one another.

Of cuddles and cakes and tea pots full.

Your knitting days with all your wool.

Your loving self you gave us all.

Those happy times mother I can recall.

The biggest smile just fills my face

Putting sadness in its place.

The birds are happy and so am I.

I will remember my mother till I die.

Farewell dear reader I go on my way.

I hope that my poem brought light to your day.
