Ode To Surabhi. A Sonnet-Ode On Her Soul's Day

"Happy birthday to you!
Happy birthday to you!
Happy, happy, happy birthday!
We love your soul’s rainbow-dream promise-play." -Sri Chinmoy.

Sweet womb, O birth of eloquence!

A thousand Gratitude's, to thy sacred sanctity of plenitude.

For out of life's yearning for fulfilment; its superlative quest,

Springs forth from your hallowed sanctum, a most enchanting Pearl!

Thy merits adorn her with their beauty; weave their laughter,

Into a life of elegance and charm.

Sweet crested Jewel, a mother's love and fortitude,

Her quintessential sacrifice,

Calligraphed their way into your pristine Heart.

A father's joy and pride, life skills and concern,

Danced with Light, way into a gem of soulfulness.

O Surabhi, the minstrels touch thy soul from Heaven,

With a sweet melody of enchanting rhythms;

Sri Krishna’s lofty cadences, cascaded splendour in thy Soul.

Your Love Dancing Sweetly in My Soul

Come, my Darling!

Bring me Your vermilion roses,

To shape a diamond in my Heart.

You’re my inner Queen!

Today I wish to crown You,

With the crest of snowflakes falling gently,

Like raindrops waltzing upon the wind.

Ah! You’re sweetly whispering my name!

Thy golden voice resonates,

With the eloquence of Beethoven’s symphonies.

I close my eyes; I hear you calling me: “Come! Come!”

Your magical tones singing a captivating whisper:

“I’m here …here …here …”

I see a dazzling Light within my Heart.

Alas! This epitome of Delight vanishes …too soon.

I endeavour to catch You; to snatch just one glance,

To nourish this hunger of longing,

Burning an unyielding flame in my Essence-Core.

Let me blend into Your charismatic splendour,

As You play your game of ‘Hide and Seek,’

Your Love dancing sweetly in my Soul.

Sri Chinmoy's song

525. My birthday song

“I plan to soar, I plan to roar.
The bird in me will teach me how to soar.
The lion in me will teach me how to roar.
I plan to love, below, above.
The Lover in me will teach me
How to love. Within, without, below, above.”-Sri Chinmoy

These songs and mantras, will inspire you to offer Gratitude to the Supreme for this blessed day.

"My own Gratitude-Heart, is all that matters." -Sri Chinmoy.

"My Gratitude Heart, always knows the way. My Oneness-Perfection, always is the way." -Sri Chinmoy.

"Surrender-Sweetness, Gratitude fullness, every day I need." -Sri Chinmoy.

"I only wanted to be, at the feet of my Lord, Supreme.

With my Heart's Gratitude tears." - Sri Chinmoy.

"I want to be every day, a Gratitude-Sun in my Heart." - Sri Chinmoy

Sri Chinmoy on Birthdays

“Each birthday is a new awakening. Each birthday is a new hope. Each birthday is a new promise. Each birthday is a new fulfilment …

Each birthday is a tune, a melody of the universal music. Each individual is also a melody of the universal music. The seeker grows and glows in his music, which he can hear with his soulful ears. The very presence of the soul-child inside us is what grants us a taste of the universal music. The soul needs to climb like music, soulful music. The soul, when it climbs, knows no boundaries, no religious barriers, no political boundaries. It is all freedom, freedom within and freedom without.

Each birthday is a petal of a flower. The flower, petal by petal, blossoms and then it is ready to be placed at the inner shrine in the aspiring heart....

Sri Chinmoy on Birthdays, (continued)

A thought indicates a new birthday. An iota of will indicates a new birthday. An upward movement indicates a new birthday. At every moment, whether we look within or without, we celebrate the birthday of our oneness with God, the Creator of the entire universe. When we look at something, we become one with it. On a birthday we feel our inseparable oneness with the expansion of a new light, a light that will ultimately cover the length and breadth of the world.

The real birthday does not come only once a year. The real birthday is the birth of each second in a seeker's life. An aspiring second in the seeker's heart is the real birthday. At every moment, God the Author of all good celebrates the seeker's birthday. As seekers we have to be consciously aware of something divine and supreme within us. What this divine and supreme thing is, is our promise to humanity and our promise to divinity. The transformation of humanity's face is our soul's promise to humanity and the manifestation of divinity's light here on earth is our soul's promise to divinity...

My Loving and Dearest Manatita,

I bow with Gratitude for this Divine poetry. It is not just poetry; it’s a precious pearl that you have extracted from the Ocean of Love. It sings in my ears with Supreme verve, and floats with rhythm, pulling the Heart’s chords. Thank you for sprinkling the drops of sweetness. Thank you for playing the flute of endearment. I now see a new vision – a vision that is spectacular. Yes, it is simply breathtaking as I enter into your sacred realm that is full of sweet devotional prayers. It is aesthetic. My Love to you is beyond the measure. God never invented any yardstick for it (smile).

I began this gracious poem with Sri Chinmoy’s birthday song. His soulful singing just touched my Heart. I felt much Peace… much. This is the best birthday gift ever. Thank you for all the love and care. The second video was so serene… simply gracious. It is such a pleasure to read Sri Chinmoy’s sacred writings on Birthdays. It is educative and pleasing at the same time. Devi Prayer was just Divine… my eyes were automatically closed as I listened to this peaceful hymn. Namas-tasye Namas-tasye- Namas-tasye- Namo-Namah. Jai Parmatma. Jai Bhaghwan. Jai Mere Param-Pita-Parmatma (Brahman).

I am so blessed. I am so fortunate that I met you on HubPages – a unique Soul. May God bless you on every path that you desire to take. I pray for you every day, and every breath that I take exhales Gratitude in the air for everyone who wished me on this day. Thank you my loving people.

Manatita, you are a weaver of words. I am just an amateur poetess. Let me take the liberty to write a verse of Gratitude:

As I sat in the Temple, I closed my eyes…

Pundits say that while closing our eyes,

God visits our Heart if we pray with full devotion.

So I closed my eyes, beading my Beloved’s name

On the holy garland of my breaths;

Opening my eyes, I realized –

I know about my Heart, and

My God knows the Heart of my Beloved.

Gratitude… Gratitude… Gratitude…

You made my day so special. My Heart is full of Love and I feel just resting in a different world – a world where a sweet quietude rests, and where a white swing is adorned with silky feathers and vermillion roses in the midst of cotton-white clouds.

It is so lovely and sacred. I want to thank everyone here: Thank you Shaloo, Jodah, Chitrangada, Venkatachari ji, Ruby, MarleneB, Bill, Emge and every prospective hubber. Thank you so much.

Om Namah Shivaya.

Happy Belated Birthday Dear Surabhi!!! Sorry I am late.

This is a very beautiful birthday blessing, Manatita. I felt love pouring out of this one as never before. Your admiration for lovely Surabhi is very evident in your words, and along with that beautiful song "You Are Love" just brought forth your vision of her even better if you read your words along with the music. What can I say...Breathtaking!

I can't think of a better way to honor someone's birth. This is so beautiful, Manatita. I love that you included photos of Surabhi's mom. I've often thought the mothers should be the ones to be celebrated on the anniversary of their children's birth. Giving birth to a new life and presenting that newborn babe to the world is the hardest and most joyous moment a woman will ever experience. Mom should be celebrated for bringing the child into the world and the child should be celebrated for making it to a completely foreign existence from the s/he knew for the first nine months of his/her life.

Happy Birthday to Surabhi and her mom!

I always stay safe, my friend. Positive thoughts and seeing the good in the world has helped me to survive any ugliness that's come my way. Rose colored glasses, positive energy, and pulling myself up by the bootstraps is what keeps this little girl alive, well, and with a smile in her heart.
