Send Me Your Dreams

They’d come to the parting of their ways

He just couldn’t stay

He had dreams to fulfill

And his artistic soul

Was taking him on a long journey

When he had completed

The architectural wonder

He was building

He promised to return to her

If she still loved him true

In the meantime

He asked her

To send him her dreams

So that through them

They could laugh and cry together

So through them

They could share the love that was between them

As much as she wanted to

She knew this meant so much to him

She was bound to her life and her family

She had to let him go

So he held her and told her

How much love he had

Enough to keep the love light alive

Until he could come home again

And so he told her over and over again

To send him her dreams

So that they could share

The days and the times

That kept them apart

And he knew that he would build

That architectural monument

With hands that longed to hold

The woman that was beside him

And after he was done

He hoped she’d be there waiting

So the very last time they kissed

And he had to go

He looked back as her tears flowed

And he reminded her

To send him her dreams

So that they’d be bound together

By their love

Gypsy, beautiful and sad, I loved the poem and the music. I'd forgotten what an emotive singer Demis Roussos was.
