My Sister Bea with her precious companion Dinkie.

Hello Sunnie, She was more like a Mother to me. She had a Son my age. I stayed with them more than i stayed at home. She died of cancer that started in the cervix and metastasised to the brain.. I loved her so much, and was thinking about her a lot today. The video i put on of Bette Midler singing, ' Wind beneath my wings ' always made me think of her. I was the only one who got to go to college, she helped me all the way through..Thank you so much for coming by..Cheers my friend..

Truly a beautiful gift having her for a sister. That song is one of my favorites too. She sounded like such a wonderful person that loved you very much. Sending a special hug.

Sorry to hear your sister died. Mom lost her sister in 1988 at the age of 46 from cancer. I never had a sister.

A wonderful tribute to your sister, she is smiling down on you as you scribed with your thoughts all around her. We are born, we live, we love, we share and then we cross over to be followed by our loved ones we left behind. You will both meet again, I'm certain of that my friend. Hugs

Thank's again Sunnie, She was a great Sister, encouraged me in every way. She only had one child, Charles. He was my age, so we were more like a brother and Sister and she was like our Mother. Take care..Cheers

Vincent, I love your words. I believe i will see her again too. It broke my heart when she died, but i was glad her pain was gone. With the cancer being in her brain, she could no longer walk or talk and the pain was evident. Thank you for kindness my friend..

This is a lovely tribute, Ruby, to your sweet sister, Bea. The Bette Midler song, my dear, is one of my favorites, too. I play it in memory of my youngest son, Scott, whom I lost when he was 28. He truly was the wind beneath my wings, too.

Oh drbj, I had no idea you had lost a Son. I am so sorry. Everytime i hear the song, i think of her. When i first started in nurses training, i quit everyday for a month, ( In my mind ) It was so difficult. She encouraged me, threatened me, helped finance me. She was the wind beneath my wings, but we go on and remember the good times, as i am sure you do. God bless you. Thank you my Dear friend

Hello Ricky, Thank you. There is not a day passes that i do not think of her, esp. in the spring. She loved to plant flowers and she was an avid fish catcher. When i would go fishing with her, I would get tired and want to leave, once I turned all her worms lose because she refused to quit HaHa Great memories..

LOL far from spoiled... I had to sew buttons on their shirts and wash their socks and hand kerchiefs and be their girl Friday... they knew how to twirl me around their little finger and I being the youngest (and dumbest) always fell for their tricks... :) Have a splendid day my dear!! God Bless you!

Ruby, what a wonderful tribute to your sister. Yes you will keep those wonderful memories of your sister alive. Sounds like she was a very good and happy lady. You will meet again. I believe Dinkie is up there with her as well.

That song is so beautiful too, it was sang at a Mary Kay Convention the year before Mary Kay died. It brought tears to my eyes then and now.

God Bless.

Kay

Oh Ruby I just want to give you a big huge hug; but as I have always believed they only leave their earthly bodies and their spirit which is what makes them who they were and still are is alive and taking care of you everyday.

I am also sure that she loves your poem and knows without a doubt how much you love her.

So very very beautiful and from deep inside your beautiful heart.

Take care my very dear friend and have a wonderful day.

Eddy.

Ellie May (Ruby my dear), a lovely and fitting tribute. I love pictures. I always imagine listening to the laughter, the day to day noises, and the moments captured in film. I can imagine the talking and laughter there must have been while you visited with her, and how Dinky must have begged for attention. I'm sorry for your loss, but happy you shared her tribute.

Hello A.A. You are a riot..HaHa ( Ellie May ) We used to have the most fun, playing rummy, fishing, camping. She had a camper and an old pickup truck. We would go camping and hit the dance clubs at night. We had a ball. Thank you my friend. I appreciate you..Cheers

Ruby, I cannot even imagine losing one of my sisters or brothers. The mere thought that one of them could die before me, pulls my tears. It must be horrible living with the knowledge they're forever gone. But then, I do know we get the strength we need to bear anything coming our way, good and bad.

Beautiful song!

Take care!
