She Runs
Can You See
She Runs
Run away into reality to escape reality itself and its terrors
Barefeet slender ankles stumble over sharp rocks broken by the elements
Her body remembers its nimbleness through the pain as her feet meet the sand
Once porcelain was the mirror of her skin
Now it mirrors the wages of war
White stained with crimson stripes orbs of deep purple apear matching the stones that made them
No frightened cry escapes her lips but the blood pounding through her veins is screaming in a voice all its own
Her paths many her escapes only two
To exstend in a final and glorious flight or to hold to a futile hope
The path leading away rolls out before her slient secretive promising nothing
Like a doe being persued she darts in her mad flight seeking escape
Her eyes searching wide with terror
The elements serene as she stands in their midst.
