She Waits for Me

She waits for me

always by the door

a little apart

in case it’s not me.

How long is she standing there,

I can never say

sometimes I am late

few times I am early

she is always there

just the same.

Waiting by the door

checking out the scene,

she peaks around the corner

is so happy to see it is me.

Greeting me with a head rub,

she goes by her bowl

gives a meow

reminds me it's time to eat.

From room to room

she follows me

so glad I am there

conscious of my every move,

looking for my praise and love.

At night

she sleeps by my side

dreaming of catnip

providing me comfort from bad dreams

and lonely nights.

Morning comes,

I leave with a smile

she adopting a knowing air

both understanding

it will be all right.

I will be back

only to find

she waits for me.

A sweet sentiment. My fury friend does the same for me.

Me too @SuperheroSales

Thanks @lettermen

@chrisam01, our little fur-balls are the best friends to have and they really do wait all day for us to come back home.

Nice poem and how true! Pets are more faithful than humans. They just need love.

yes she is @romari, until she eats the carpet and rips up my magazines but I love that too!

Thanks @rajan jolly, I agree.

Thanks @gailalovesbijou, I am sure your kitties enjoyed their kisses!
