She has the darkest of eyes

In truth ....I cannot read them
nor could I ever
For there are unspeaking shadows there
clouding my way

And my path? What what was it
that
I expected to find
A journey to the center of her soul
a free ride of some kind

And innocently they glow back at me
reflecting my own shortcomings
No I don't think her heart wants company
right now

Oh well maybe next time the light
may be just right
And I'll go inside her soul through those
eye's ......just not this night

Horseback - What a lovely and insightful take from her point of view. At first I thought we were speaking of a woman, but I saw the photo and the poetry took on a whole new meaning.

Voting up.

This poem really touched me. This is the kind of poetry that beckons you to find your own meaning. I sure found mine. Hit all buttons but funny with this great piece of writing.

I should have known it was a horse as much as you love them, either way, it was lovely...

Hmmm..... My take on this poem : looking into the soul of a woman, not a horse :)

Beautiful, and awesome words! Voting up and everything....
