Sheep (poem)
I don’t believe in your rules of conformity
Rejecting your pathetic version of reality
I do not feel the need to be politically correct
I do not pretend to march to my own beat
I speak my mind. Simple and direct
I don’t see a world so simplistically neat
Refusing to follow your maddening precession
Dulled by responses that are automatic
I don’t believe your versions of life lessons
Confused by anything slightly erratic
You've stolen someone elses creed
Normality is a sickness
Conformity is weakness
Shoot the drummer and take the lead
Passion is derived of chaos
Freedom is a matter of perspective
Sucking in the nerve gas
From the mass majority collective
Can’t you see that it’s no longer effective?
That it’s time to seek a new directive
Stumbling through pathetic lives
Never knowing what true freedom derives
Free from the persecution of those who would (and will always) follow
Fighting the rules that they force you to swallow
"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken"
Oscar Wilde
