Significance - a poem

Source

The significance doesn't lie in the possibility

I am the only compassionate person

in someone's life,

but in the possibility

I am the first.

Beautiful and this could be read in several different ways. Love the photo, too.

"several different ways" I'm curious what ways come to mind?

Of your shorter verse, this is one of my favorites. Lovely work. Theresa

ahorseback and fpherj48: I'm not very prolific. If you don't believe me, read my books. I think it comes from newspaper reporting. If I can say it in a sentence I won't make a paragraph out of it. Thanks for the encouragement!

In a hurting world your sentiment is true more often than we might believe. Thank you for sharing, thank you for encouraging others to consider the thought.

Your poem leaves me thinking - Having a compassionate person in one's life IS the significance of it all.
