Silent Film...Weeping Softly.

Silent Film...Weeping Softly.

Through the translucent film
of memories  from long ago,
crumbling on the reals of my mind,
I still get a vague glimpse of you,
cornflower blue eyes,
and lips pregnant with possibilties,
how you would tease,
with your beauty,
and I was just a puppy dog,
chasing what would never be,
just butterflies in my stomach
and in my dreams,
it's all celluloid now,
melted badly from the
many summers without you,
only a few scenes remain,
that kiss we finally consumated,
the laughter that graced your glances,
and the hope that still might grant,
some time for us before we wrinkle into obscurity,
A chance to know love long forsaken.
