Sleep My Maiden Fair (poem)

Sleep my maiden fair

The sun is shining

I am alright

Sleep my maiden fair

-

I baked you a cake

To celebrate our special day

Did you think I forgot

Chocolate double icing

Sleep my maiden fair

-

Your son is doing well

He’s back attending school

One more degree for the wall

-

Your daughter

Still crazy as ever

The big award she earned

Didn’t help any

We’re proud of her

Sleep my maiden fair

-

I’m sorry no one visits you

I guess life as gotten too confusing

Or maybe this was meant to be

Remember when we started

It was only you and me

Remember

-

Thank you for the memories

I’ll never tire of saying that

They raise my heart when I’m alone

Reminders that you’re always there

Waiting

Waiting

-

Sleep my maiden fair

The sun is shining

I am alright

Sleep my maiden fair

Good morning, Martin.

This poem is so unlike most of your work.

Still, it is a beautiful poem.

Your sleeping maiden waits for you, as well.

DJ.

So much melancholy presented so well!

Another great job!

Best,

Oh, how very beautiful. I really love this one, so different ... yes, melancholy.

God bless, Faith Reaper

This is so different from the poems you usually write, but it is lovely. Life goes on, but those who have left before us are waiting and not forgotten.

Again, memories tend to hold things together for us sometimes. I do like this style from you.
