So Much Passion

Cold...

Age has taken her life,

crying pitifully,

she was his wife

for over fifty years,

he was always there,

and he had never failed,

nothing but tears,

her body white, pale,

he was feverish,

his eyes red,

he was trying to wake her

From the dead,

hugging her for warmth,

he wanted to be near,

for love, for peace, for fear,

her ghost stood still,

as the room was filled with cries,

so much passion

her ghost saw in his eyes,

only God chooses who lives or who dies,

and death did them part,

but he so wanted to hear

her hammering heart,

laughter is what he wanted to share,

her face had not changed,

her skin was thin,

and her eyes were sunken in,

cold....

Frank, This one brought tears to my eyes. There's a song by Irish Mythen called "55 Years " and it's about this man who'd just lost his wife. If you get a chance to listen to it you'd probably like it. You can find it on my Irish Mythen hub or on Youtube.

It's hard to imagine how a partner copes, when the other dies after they've spent so many years together. Nice work, well done.

The emotional pain of losing a significant other especially after so many years together is unbearable. My godmother lost her husband eight years ago and even though it's been a while, she hasn't gotten over it. She doesn't come over for our Christmas Eve parties anymore. God Bless you my friend:)
