So Nice To Have A Wife That Cooks

Waiting To Eat

I am able to relax while she cooks dinner

I help sometimes but most of the time I am spoiled

My stomach starts to growl

Even our cat starts to meow

Off in another room I can smell the sweet aroma teasing my senses

We are having chicken tonight

She plans ahead and tells me what she takes out the night before

And asks what about chicken tomorrow

Always trying different dishes so we don't eat the same old thing

I always say fine

When what we are going to eat tomorrow is the last thing on my mind

I love her cooking so much

So on the computer I type

Waiting for the supper to be cooked

I find it funny that I never think about food

But I sure love to eat

With the chicken she made homemade honey mustard to dip the chicken in

It is the little things I love the most

My wife is a big water drinker so with every meal and all during the day

Water and more water

Before I knew her I was lucky if I drank one glass of water

Now I drink sometimes eight glasses a day

It is a lot healthier than soda or juice

She tries so hard just to make me happy

When I tell her if she is happy being the best person she can be

Then I am happy

A lot of things can happen in just one day

A love that grows is something we don't always know how to say

Feeling special and treating each other right

Makes me sleep good at night

So many days are just routine

Those are the days that make my life complete

Honey I'm coming

As she calls out one more time lets eat

For a moment I thought this was just your status! Nice poem. Assuming that it is based on real life, it's great that she cooks dinner for you, and that you enjoy it. I cook for my boyfriend often (I spoil him), and I know he loves it. Have a good night, and thanks for sharing this with us.

Sounds like a really happy life. The little things day in and day out are the big things.

I love this. You seem so content in your love of life and each other. God Bless and enjoy every little thing every day. God Bless. You are very lucky.

Cooking can be monotonous but if one enjoys cooking then it would sound easier, so lucky to have someone cook for you I do it most of the time for my family such a lovely treat to have a cooked meal daily

suzzycue I listen to so many people talk about their lives filled with endless stories of drama and yelling and screaming every day.I don't know what that is like. All I can do is imagine.I wake up excited and eager to start a new day. Most of the time it follows into the same pattern spending a good time together, cleaning around the house, food shopping, day to day small problems, thinking and trying to get ahead, playing with our cat, going to work, going to bed. All in all life has been very good to me.We crave for more but work on enjoying what we have making it the happiest it can be,DDE We often struggle with issues other people don't want to talk about. Having everyone help out and leaving nothing for just one person makes it so much easier and more fun. When our day is done we said we have made it work and keep learning to make our life a little simplier.Thanx for reading and and commenting and adding to my days fun.

My husband and I take our turn cooking dependint who has more time. Some of the more complicated recipes like a souffle or baked alaska.... those are my specialities. One of the first time my husband baked me a cake was my first birtday in Canada and we didn't find a good pastry yet; it was really kind of him to try it and it was just delicious!

Thank you for sharing your poem!

Very good prose depicting everyday life in your home. Your appreciation for your spouse's cooking is touching. Lucky you!

ladydeonne We have a great give and take in our relationship. If I have to cook I will but I rather tackle a project in the yard. There are times I break something trying to help then I have to fix a new problem that I created.Learning as I go.You could say I am a handyman in training. As long as it all works out and we both stay happy life is not that bad.If I help and make a mistake in the kitchen she is more likely to throw out what I burned or ruined then we go out to eat instead.A win win all the way around.Have a great day and may laughter always be found.
