Solid Gold Love

They had a love

that kept on shining

kept them loving

and longing

whenever he’d go away

he’d tell her

to keep him close to her heart

and dream a little dream of him

she never thought to worry

he was her strong port

always a shoulder to cry on

always someone who sheltered her from the storm

every day began with smiles

and warm thoughts through the day

together they had built this life

and together they stayed

he loved how she picked up

the many little habits he had

now when she was away from him

she told him to dream a little dream of her

to them it seemed

that the seasons brought

such sweet surprises

another reason for living and loving

all the dreams they did dream

they liked to share

on starry dark nights

lighted by the moon

so no matter how near or how far

their hearts beat in unison

sharing this wonderful world

and dreaming a little dream of each other

Delightful and warming. I will ask my lovely to dream a little dream of me tonight as I am sure I will be dreaming of her.
