Song Lyrics - Green Grass Grows After A Fire

If you want to see her smile
You’re gonna’ have to pay
That’s the way she is
She’s not giving it away

She has a heart
But it’s not on fire
It’s already been burned
So she thinks you’re a liar

The green after a fire is better than before
Her heart never stopped
It just needs to be restored
She didn’t know
That love never dies
And that a smile will give her a reward

Green grass grows after a fire
But not in the heart of the woman
Who worked so long in the garden
That took one day to be ruined

You’re gonna’ have to be patient
And plant seeds until dawn
You have to do what it takes
Or you’ll never walk on her lawn

The green after a fire looks like gold
Her heart never stopped
It just needs to be told
That love never dies
And a beautiful smile
Will bring her life in from the cold
