Song Lyrics - She Paints Her Body (with pictures from her mind)

Source

A quiet girl standing behind the bar
With the questions in her hand
A soulful face with no expression
She knows more than we understand

Her mind adorned by color
She hangs the pictures on her body
Framed by soft skin
She doesn’t care if we see

It’s not how life is
It's what it can be
The girl who painted her body
Lives her life so free

Riding on her own green carpet
From the world where she lives
In a land of concrete and steel
Her life is about what she gives

For a moment she smiles
If only so slightly
She is listening to all of us
But controls her own destiny

It’s not how life is
It’s what it can be
The girl who colored her body
Living life so peacefully

I wonder if I could ever do it
And paint my body with my mind
I come from a destructive world
There are no answers for me to find
As I stand so close to her
I can see her inner beauty
I could never be like her
I already gave my soul away for free

Everyday when the sun settles down
She risks her life on the street

You would never know she was here
Except if you were lucky to meet

It’s not how life is
It’s what it can be
The girl with her life on her body
She is telling us to come and see

I have to be honest and say that you are in the song... there is no question... there are others... It hit my mind the other day. I'm 53 years old and somewhat old school in my thinking but I'm opening my mind up.... it's about freedom and who we are...

Along with many others I must say. Thank you for opening up a bit to show this beauty you wrote!

Hey... I'm half Cuban and I lived in South Texas but I spent time in Dallas and somewhat fell into the Yuppie ethic... I'm finding myself as I grow and shed labels and the need to be seen in a certain light. It's all about being good to people and the rest is being who you are....

Suburban this was a magnificent brilliant scribe. Bella and many like us who have tattoos walk the streets with whispers from behind. Like I write in the poem I linked here, we can't and shouldn't be judged by our appearance. Look into our souls that's where you will find the truth and many of us are more human than the whisperers. peace my friend, simply a masterpiece here. Bella is a beautiful lady both inside and out.

@Saddlerider1 - You are much too kind. I read your hub and left a coomment. I was happy with what I wrote. I felt like I "got" something for the first time and was pleased to be able to articulate my thoughts in song format.... thanks for being such a strong supporter of my work.
