Song Lyrics - The World is a Junk Bond

Wantin’ to work, but can’t
Got no seeds to plant
You can’t digest a rant
I'm tired of feelin' irrelevant

There ain’t no bulls
For all us fools
The world is a junk bond

They’re ready to foreclose
On my children’s memory
They’re ready to bankrupt
All my security

There ain’t no bulls
For all us fools
The world is a junk bond

I keep readin’
How they make money out of nothin’
All my life
I worked with my hands
Now they laugh
While I lose my wife

There ain’t no bulls
It’s just us fools
The world is a junk bond

The rich pretend
The politicians sin
The protests never end
On who can we depend
If not ourselves?

There ain’t no bulls
For all us fools
The world is a junk bond

I want to work

I don't want a hand-out
I want my kids to be proud of their Daddy
I'm willing to do my part
But don't take away my chance
Let me be the man for my family

There is so much truth there, Suburban Poet, and that's what makes contemporary song lyrics relevant. You need to pitch these lyrics to an established singer--probably of country music. Did you write music to go with the lyrics?

Very good, and your verses echo the thoughts of many, many Americans!

3d verse had me scared, till I remembered it is literally impossible to foreclose a memory--remember that! NOW, the world is a junk bond. My son is taking a list of people that want to move to a 60,000 acre island w/him (he's been your route too many times for 45)! Got one more thing to say: get all those awesome poems put together in different genres and get 'em to a pub! No, a publisher! They've probably already been to enough pubs. Seriously, in small books on our times but differing themes--hey, try it! Talk about proud! And daddy's don't have to be 'successful' or even 'working' by this world's standards for their kids to be proud of them! Great hub!

@Jaye - Thank you for commenting. Sorry for the delayed response. No.. I don't have any music. "Write" now I'm just an unknown lyricist... I feel strongly about what I said here....

@Teylina - Thank you again!I'd like to get these in hardback but I'm pretty busy and kind of lazy about that sort of thing... but I keep threatening to...

Well, so besides Tally, we've something else in common: having 'em but lazy about that mess called following thru! I can just see yours--about 4-5 kinda tall, thin--all put together in a sharp-looking box (maybe make it look like a kindle on the end), with all their labels: "politically incorrect, romance, kids--in this world? what's going down next?" etc.-- see, got imagination just too lazy to do anything with it!
