Song: My Darkest Love

So, I figured I'd try sharing a little creativity on HubPages. These are the newly completed lyrics to a song which a friend asked me to write. He intends to record it, so if it ever gets big, remember you heard it here first! =]

Today I heard the rain and thought of you
The world's been blanketed in grey and cold
Since you've been gone
If only for all the smoke I could see
The beauty lying dormant inside me

Today I saw the sky and cried for you
All the memories and pain are now passed
How're you feeling?
If only for the sadness I could be
Just me and now what I want you to see

[chorus:] To you my darkest love
Its you I've been thinking of
The random strains of a song left unsung
Musical whispers through the night tell me
You're not here [/chorus]

Tonight I screamed until my throat was sore
In trying not to remember what was
Not said or done
And now never again will I regret
All of the times I wished I could forget

Tonight I took a walk out in the dark
To let the cold seep in, I'm wondering
How small am I?
The feelings between us are turning white
I'm watching you spread your wings and take flight

The slashes remnants of a gift once adored
Consecrates what's broken
And been left here
I'm completely shattered and done waiting
For you my dear

Today I heard the rain and thought of you...

Please leave a comment on this if you have any feedback for me. I'd love to hear it!
