Stacy - Past and Present

Into the past and back to the future

My garage is packed full of boxes. I am not sure when those boxes will be completely empty, but occasionally while looking for something, a treasure seems to surface. This is just one of the many treasures I have found.

As in a previous hub called The Early Years, I thought this one would also be fun to share, but to do a past and present version of it. Originally this poem was done while I was in High School. It was an assignment given in what I believe to be my creative writing class.

These poems give me an indepth look at who I was back then, but more importantly, it allows me to show how I have changed. I hope you enjoy this trip into my past and enjoy coming back to the future.

There are many beautiful things in life. One can not deny the beauty of the sun setting after a perfect day with family and friends. This is what memories are made of!

The Past

Stacy

Friendly, trusting, noisy, and generous,

Sister of Jenny, Crystal and Cassandra,

Lover of beauty, mysteries, and a smile on a person's face

Who feels tired after a long day of working, anxious in a mystery movie, and sad after a funeral of my relatives,

Who needs to hear people laughing on a sunny day, and needs to earn more money to buy what I want,

Who gives appreciation to those that help, friendship to those who need a friend, and a helping hand to those that need assistance,

Who fears the darkness of night, the times when I get into trouble, and pain after someone gets hurt,

Who would like to see peace on earth, less homework on weekends, and everyone to be friends with everyone else,

Resident of Pulaksi, Wisconsin

The Present

Stacy

Friendly, obsessive, anxious and shy

Sister of Jenny, Crystal and Cassie

Lover of family, friends, and a good piece of writing,

Who feels the need to never stop moving, anxious about life in general, and sad when things just don't seem to go right,

Who needs to write to keep from going insane, to learn to occasionally rest, and to figure out what to do with the rest of my life,

Who gives to those who give in return, a friendly ear to those who need to vent, and too much at times to the point of not giving to herself,

Who fears the odd crackle of a settling house when all alone, leaving the closet door open when trying to sleep at night, and never remedying the relationships that have gone sour,

Who would like to see her kids unconditionally happy, her book eventually written and published, and her first paycheck from Google Adsense,

Resident of Hemet, California

As any parent, to have children who are unconditionally happy is a goal in life!

This was beautiful and I have to agree with the two ladies above me.

I would never have thought of you as a shy person.

Up, awesome and beautiful!

This was spectacular... although truth be told I enjoyed your past one more. I already know all that about your current self :-) The past is a crazy thing, because even though I know you... I only remember you from a little girl sisters point of view. Now I have an adult memories and adult ideas about who you are and what you are like. From an outsiders opinion you were very honest about who you are and what you are like. I greatly enjoyed it... introspection is good for everybody! Very great piece that you put together here!

@Sunnie - I love finding little treasures like this. Not only is it fun to share but it sure makes me think a little harder to recreate something in what is hopefully an adult mind. Thanks for stopping by and I am glad you enjoyed it. Don't be decieved by those cute faces... they are very mischivious! :)

@Just Ask Susan - I am a very shy person... almost to the point of having a social anxiety. I push past it everyday but it really does make me a nervous wreck. However, hubpages is a little bit different. I guess in away, I am much stronger hiding behind a computer screen. Glad you enjoyed this! :)

Hi Barbergirl.

A beautiful past and present.

The only thing that tops that are the three little smiling faces of your children.

Beautiful hub, UP/A/B/I

Take care and have a nice day.

LOL Ghaelach

@Myth - I love the past one just because it is funny how we measure priorities and wants. At that time I wanted enough money to buy whatever I wanted and then I also wanted less homework on the weekends. Probably because I spent all weekend working so it was difficult to get that homework done. It is fun to look inside and really see the change. They are still the same, but yet so different!

Your children are precious! I enjoyed reading this so much. I was painfully shy until I met the man I wanted to marry. He was very outgoing, and I wanted him to like me, so I became a different person. That's the person I have been ever since. Now I never meet a stranger! Good Hub.

@Mary - I have always been a touch shy... at least in person. Hubpages has really helped me open up and push my opinions. Glad you enjoyed this. It is good to really take an indepth look at yourself every once in awhile! :)

@Kellymom - Thanks so much. The kids are definately spitting images of me... well... unless they are trouble. They get that from their dad! ;)

Stacy - how the heck did you let me miss this? Priceless! I had to crack up about the less homework on weekends:) That is priceless. You are awesome!

@Real - Technically you didn't really miss it... it wasn't published too long ago. The less homework on the weekends- I think I was hinting to the teacher about that! LOL I believe I got an A - then again - I kind of always got A's on everything!

Well I was scouting out a hub to link and that's how I found it! I didn't get my notifications today or yesterday either which makes it hard for me to keep up! Have to go prospectin' ! LOL

@Real - I got my notifications but I dont' usually pay attention to them... I go through the list of hubbers I follow and catch up that way. But that is probably because some days it takes me awhile to get to the reading. And just a heads up... I am going to publish my very first Sonnet - inspired by AustinStar - It is so hiliarious. I have a few touches to do on it, but I am hoping to get that done today. But first things first - off to finish my P90X hub!

@SweetiePie - Writing has always been a big part of my life. I am glad that I have found hubpages to express myself.

Thanks - felt it was time to change things up a little. I see you changed yours to! Now I actually know what you look like :)

Very enjoyable read BBG. I loved the ending about Adsense. Don't we all, ha. I also loved the part about the closet door, I understand.

@Sharyn - Thanks for stopping by. I will be looking forward to my first Adsense Check - I will be so excited - I will probably write a hub about it... lol. Although I might get my payout from hubpages here pretty soon.

As for the closet door... my husband still teases me about it, but he makes sure they are all closed before sleeping. I also have this weird thing were I don't sleep on the right or left side of the bed... I take whichever side is closer to the door. My husband thinks it's weird. I say it is so I can escape easier! LOL
