Stormy Love

Dark and stormy

Eyes smoldering with passion

As the thunder crashed

And the lightning flashed

Lighting up the night sky

The motorcycle knight

Kept pressing on

She for commitment

He for a night of pleasure

They fought one another

In a tug of war

And with each resounding boom

She’d cry out in delight

As the light streaked the sky

Then turned it all to black

They breathed in unison

Their hearts beating like brass drums

He was hearing the roar

Of the cycle that would take him

Away in the morn

She was in a world of romance

Her rhythm adjusting to the music

That played in her mind

The storm rolled on

And the give and take

Went on and on

She whispered in his ear

But the words weren’t clear

He wasn’t one to be staying

And she wanted the storm

To keep on playing

To the rhythm of the pouring rain

They lay side by side

Hands twined as one

Till she opened up her eyes

To the newly risen sun

The leaves on the trees

Glistening with raindrops

The heat rising from the ground

Sighing she knew

When she looked out the window

He would be gone

But strange things happen

When love begins on a stormy night

As far as he went

He saw her face

Instead of the moon and stars

Somewhere down the road

A long way from here

By the ocean

He thought he heard the waves

Whisper her name

And so it happened

When the next summer storm came round

She was sitting alone

Enjoying the show

As the storm started

That she loved so

And as the first rolls of thunder

Crashed across the night sky

She heard the sound

Of his motorcycle approaching

Fast and furious

Love was here to stay

And this time there was no turning back

This poem is smoldering from the flashes of passion therein. "...and with each resounding boom, she'd cry out in delight." I think I am blushing. I must go step out into the cold night air now. Great job Gypsy Rose :-)

@Gypsy Rose Lee

A passionate love story,

specially the analogy with the weather and all happening in the hearts of lovers is fantastic.

Voted up.

Rasma, the story told in this poem is just beautiful. I loved your imagery and rhythm in the words, the perfect metaphor of storm and nature.

A perfect fit and thanks so much for the video. Not only love the song but I have never seen the Beatles that young! ^^

Boy, what a blast from the past - I remember the Beatles when they were that young, Jackie - I'm 60, so I grew up in the 1960's. This song was one of their oldies. I haven't heard it in years!

Gypsy, this is a very carnal, yet romantic poem. I don't know how you combined the two, but I guess that's why I'm not a poet!

Love this! Especially as my partner and I are bikers!

Also love that Beatles track; one of my favourites and a great one to go with this poem.

Great analogy of the storm. Up ++. Ann

Glad you enjoyed this Graham.

Actually yes, this song would make a nice accompaniment to riding with the wind on a bike Ann. Thanks for the vote.
