Suburban Zen Haiku

Suburban Zen

Acorns destroy lawns
Squirrels feed by cracking nuts
Joined, they plant new trees

Don‘t mow the lawn yet
Last night deer ate plump cherries
Fallen from our trees

Suburb‘s garden plight
Rake, dethatch, plant seeds birds eat
Does Earth scorn green lawns?
