Summer and You
Summer and You
Summer is when my dreams of you are vibrant...
The sunny days are brighter each time I look at you
Flying colours merge with your sweetest smiles
Every strand of your hair glitters gold in the sun
Your neck stretches as the soft winds brushes by.
The waves roll to the shores and join you prance
You are the only flower amidst an open land
You hold my hand with that gaze straight at me
Oh but why, high above all the seagulls cry!
It is also in summer my dreams of you leave so soon...
The birds see what is coming but unknown to me
For far across the ocean blue, you have to go
The sky rumbles for you are not here with me
Rain pours no lie; drowns my heart alive ‘til I die.
Day after day, the shore birds continue to cry
Missing the once ‘lovers of summer’ walking by
They hear every silent song from our graves
And to where flowers bloom as to our hearts desire.
Over again, summer welcomes dreams of you…
Though eyes shut, I watch you dance ‘til sunset comes
On ebb tide, wet feet greet the singing sands
We hold tight; I kiss your lips and you kiss mine
Footprints we leave behind each time we try.
