Sunset Seats (poem)

Sitting on this side of sunset

It’s easy to tell my children

To follow their dreams

To make their wishes come true

To be that star in the heavens

-

Sitting on this side of sunset

It’s easy to forget

The faces

The places

The traces

Which all aligned to a time

Stepping stones upon a fairy tale

Disappearing with each page

-

Sitting on this side of sunset

It’s easy to find the gems

The wonders accomplished on the road

Shining examples

Which soon become common

But of course

It was You

-

So what is there to say

What special lesson can be shared

A smile

A while

An isle

Set aside for us to meet

Stepping stones back to our seats

Waiting on a side of sunset

There is so much life to be lived on this side of the sunset. Love the message and love Joni Mitchell!
