Synopsis in Shades of Blue
Old Blues tune, you move my soul, I'm inspired by the Harvest Moon,
Down on that levee, near the swamp, I'm hearing that lonesome loon.
Gentle breezes carry hints of Jasmine, and a white Magnolia's flowers.
Just playing my guitar's beckoning song, to wile away evening's hours.
Refrain:
Blues echoing in the night,
shades of blue, until day's light,
Chords of music then to play,
intriguing sounds to portray,
To higher powers.
.
Darkest blues to black, all the night shades coming back, in darkest hours,
Old Blues train down the track, rhythmic clickaty-clac, under rain's showers.
Half-past ten on the clock, hickory-dickory-dock, road queen in her bowers.
Now the rain has stopped, the levee, it has topped, don't send any flowers.
Refrain:
Blues echoing in the night,
Shades of blue, until day's light.
Chords of music then to play,
Intriguing sounds to portray,
to higher powers.
Swamp magic got a hold on me, pendulums swung to half-past-three,
That Bayou's spell just sets me free, The Cajun ways, are what I see.
Wild birds, gators, sounds in the night, got to be a part, show no fright.
Morning's sun, warm and bright, bathes every shore. in broad daylight.
Refrain:
Blues echoing in the night,
Shades of blue, until day's light.
Chords of music then to play,
Intriguing sounds to portray,
To higher powers.
Blues tune, you echo in the night,
Your shades of blue until day's light,
My guitar rings and chords do play,
Intriguing sounds to portray.
Dedicated,,,to higher powers...yes,
to higher powers.
